We have to write a letter tonight.
A letter to try and convince the CCAA that we would be the
best parents for a "special situation".
And I call it that because we are not at liberty to discuss it,
Right now.

This is not going to be an easy thing to do for a few reasons.
I was once asked what I would put in a "Birthmother Letter".
My response, "Keep your baby!".
I'm not good at these things.
How do you convince someone that you would make a better parent than
another person?
How do you sell yourself to the CCAA?
We were told to "put your best foot forward".
Hmmm.................
How do you convince someone that you are the best parents for
a kid you don't know?
Heck! Sometimes I don't think I'm the best parents for kids that I have!

And look at how we raise our kids.
Like the CCAA is gonna say," Hey Yeah! Let's give 'em
to the Homeschoolin' Boot-wearin' Hippy and the Doctor
with the 5 kids. They look good!"
Wait for that!
I do not want to get my hopes up.
Anyway, that's where we are.
No closer than we were a week ago, but closer than we were a year ago.
Pray for me.....I'm stressed!
I ate a piece of Ben's birthday cake today.
That helped a little. Me.....not the size of my butt.
Peace.
Well, when we wrote our letter to the CCAA we were just honest and let our desire to give this little girl a home and family. We promised to always love and take care of her. You know in your heart what to say.
ReplyDeleteEmail me if you need to talk or for anything at all.

Oh, the curiosity is killing me! I hate it when people tell me there is something big going on but they can't talk about it. That is just cruel.
ReplyDeleteI guess you have a pretty good reason though. You wouldn't be torturing us for fun.
I will say a prayer for your family regarding whatever is going on and the decisions that need to be made.
I just had a picture of Jesus holding your hand as you write or type your letter. You don't have to write it. Just let him write through you.
maybe you could just send CCAA the link to your blog and let them see for themselves what a great mama you are!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for you, girl.
ReplyDeleteYou just remember that the Lord holds the hearts of kings in His hands. CCAA too.
Just write your heart. Your heart is beautiful and they will see that.
Love and prayers,
Rebecca
I sure if you and Stacey put your heads and hearts together you will find the right words needed.. You really write well so I am sure you will do what is needed!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I will send prayers and cross my fingers, eyes and legs!
HUGZ!
Don't look at yourself through the eyes of someone who sees every flaw and shortcoming... see yourself from His perspective: Loving! Devoted! Rooted in His love! Family oriented! I could go on and on :)
ReplyDeleteIf the CCAA felt like we could parent our 8th child, I am sure you guys have it made in the shade ;)
Keep us posted! I'll be praying!
I had write a birthmom letter too! what agony? what do you say?
ReplyDeleteit took me a long time to write it, but then it hit me. it really doesn't matter what i write. if God has a special child chosen for our family, they will be "picked" for us regardless of what my talented writing says;)
don't stress...just write and God will do the rest!
We had to write a birth mother letter too...I felt like saying the same thing. How do you encourage someone to do something you know you never could?
ReplyDeleteNice to meet another 'emotional' eater!
