i'm glad you posted what you have actually done! that's so cool! and skinny-dipping??!! you wild girl you!
ReplyDeletei however was most flabbergasted by "killed and prepared an animal for eating". i wanna know which animal this hippy chick has killed! ;-) i'm coming back later to check, so i hope you fess up. i'm putting my $$$ on a chicken. or hunting -- a deer perhaps? or fishing??? it better not be a fish. fish don't count. LOL!
Hey Rach-
ReplyDeleteSquirrels and Rabbits.
We used to go hunting with my Dad and Grandfather. They always made sure that we knew how to do things like that in the event of an emergency. I have got all kinds of coooool SURVIVAL skills. I have helped clean and dress out a deer, but I have NEVER actually killed one..they are just tooo fine, in my eyes...But I would do it if it meant feeding my family.I have never actually killed a chicken, but my Great Grandmother showed me how when I was about 6 or 7. I can clean fish , build a fire, cook on a fire and on a woodstove, grow food...I think that these are things alot of Southern kids learn to do. They may never use it...but we are all taught...Just in case we need it- One day. We teach our kids these things a little along. It is just part of the way we live
down here. I think it is a good thing. Our family does not hunt, as a rule. Stacy and Caleb just do not agree with killing something for sport.....but both agree that they would do it in a heart beat if they were hungry! :)
AND I thought EVERYBODY has gone skinny dippin' at least once!
Didn't they have water where you people grew up?!
Maybe it's just a Mississippi Thang!;)
oh, i've totally been skinny dipping! i'm just giving you are hard time! :)
ReplyDeletevery interesting about all of your life skills! thanks for sharing!
