Today we celebrate the birthday of
Mary Elizabeth ShuMin.
She & my grandfather have the same birthday.
When we called from China to tell them, he said,
"Always wanted a grandbaby with my birthday...
had to go half way around the world to find her."
He loves all of his great- grands, but she is a little special.
We asked her what she wanted at her party and she said,
"Ummm..Elmo Birthday Cake & Presents & Bubble Gum!"
So that's what we are having- An Elmo, Presents, Bubble Gum Party!
The kids are coming over Wednesday afternoon for lunch and cake.
It's a rowdy bunch, so it should be a blast.
Today we will celebrate as a family.
The children help make the cake for"whoever" has a birthday, and we
have a small party after dinner.
The kids look forward to it , and really seem to enjoy the fact
that they get "2" parties each year.
She has grown so much since the day we met her.
She is still just as beautiful,
And still has that smile that lights up a room.
She loves to dress up,
She loves her family and friends,
She loves to tell me to take her picture...
but then you have to BEG her to smile.
She is on the go 24-7,
And we wouldn't have her any other way!

OK- this comment is completely unrelated to your post, but OH MY GOSH, my child is OBSESSED with your blog. Have I told you this? She asks for "The Happy Song" 100 times a day. I downloaded it form iTunes, but NO she also has to SEE your blog too. She always has a comment too- today she wanted to blow out the candles on the cake!
