SOUTH PACIFIC, Haircuts,Dossiers, & Dancers

Thursday was OPENING NIGHT @ the MLT Little Theatre.

From the start
this group was rumored to be the best cast ever assembled.

The rumor was true.
I have NEVER laughed so hard at a musical.

It is full of veteran actors and REAL sailors from Meridian NAS.
These guys are awesome.

At one point , one of the real commanders was screaming at a sailor and you actually felt BAD for the poor little guy.

Life imitating art.

The cast and crew LOVE each other.
Here Caleb & Chad are smooching on the Asst. Director, Rio.
No wonder people call them "Rio's Pets".

Of course, the boys all swear that they are doing these community theatre productions to
"hone their craft"
but I suspect that it is because there is never a shortage of pretty girls to practice lines with.
I could be wrong...but i doubt it.

Caleb plays STEWPOT and is hilarious.

I was Caleb's guest for dress rehearsal and had the pleasure of witnessing his "mock hula" before a crowd of about 200........I think he gets that from his Daddy's People.

Our little man got a haircut.
He was not happy about it...but his Daddy was thrilled!

What an angel he is.

We took this picture last week to go into our new dossier.
No..that wasn't a typo...NEW dossier.
We are headed back to China for Thaggard baby #7.
We have not been matched yet but we are already praying for our newest little monkey.
The Dossier will be sent to Houston for translation on Monday............
and we're off!

Should travel right after the first of the year.

Loved these pictures.
Caleb and Rachel are the most alike
and get on each others nerves the most...........

This was a once in a lifetime shot!

Last Thursday
the kids started a 6 week Ballroom Dance and Etiquette Class
for children who are Home-Educated.

You have to be 8 years old to take the class.
Mary was NOT Happy.

It is rumored that the girls argue over who dances with Caleb.
He already knows the steps and he is tall..........
so it makes it alot easier if you are a beginner.
Caleb likes that ....alot!

Hannah was a fast learner and secretly told me that
she wanted a new partner because her partner "wouldn't lead"
and made her do it.

This week she was paired with a 14 year old who is like
a second son to us.....she was pumped.

Ben is a natural.
We thought he would HATE it.......
he LOVED it.

Maybe it was because he was dancin' with his best gal , Carson.
A pretty girl ALWAYS makes things better.

Everyone had a great time................................

Except for RACHEL.
She has seen Strictly Ballroom 100 times,
wears dance costumes 7 days a week,
can sing every Michael Buble' song she hears word for word,
and knows the difference between a Rumba and a Tango..........
but she is only 5.
Too young for this class.
But not to worry...............
We'll figure something out. ;)

  1. Come ON!!!! No Way!!! That's just so awesome!!! Baby #7. WOW! I am so beyond excited. I need to get my act together!!!! :) Has Adam already been home a year? (I'm losing track of time here). I thought that was a rule, and I *thought* it hadn't been a year yet. But, I'm not sure on either count! It doesn't matter- just curious! I am just so thrilled for you all!!!! I'll be praying!

LOVE the South Pacific pics- yay Caleb!! Being on stage in a musical is my dream, and I'm dying to try ballroom dancing. Both things are on my "Bucket List" so so speak! One day maybe i'll find the time! Meanwhile, I'll live vicariously through your kids! :) SO COOL!

    You are one happenin' family!!

  3. LOL! Tisra- I know what you mean. Trying to stay calm myself.

Jenna- One year for a NSN adoption. 6 months for a SN adoption. Some agencies have their own rules for longer stretches between adoptions, but mine(PTL) is 6 months.

Soooooo not been a year. He came home in MAY.

You need to do the Ballroom....we love it.
Stacy is having a ball and we use it as our date night.
The kids are really enjoying it....but they have always loved big band music. I think that is why they like it so much. ;)

  8. Andrea!!

Finally getting to catch up with y'all now that I have a working computer..woo hoo!!

I just LOVE looking at all your family pics and whitty subtitles. I have Sophie on my lap(she's lovin Adam) and she fell in love with the BUS in your title bar...then quickly asked, why isn't it yellow..LOL.

Theatre, ballroom dancing....is there nothing that family of yours doesn't attempt and accomplish:-)?! I literally get tears in my eyes...you just have THE best group of kids there....truly blessed;-).

Have to say the shot of Caleb at the family grave got me all choked up. Yes, he IS quite the catch for some young lady...but then he'll feel HE'S the lucky one, and that makes my statement even more true.

Congrats on baby#7! WOW....You seem to be able to get your paperwork done in record time. Praying you see the face of your dear one soon!

    Sending love and hugs,
    Tami
